It's that time again for blog hopping! If you've just landed here first, worry not because you can follow the links and complete the circuit. If by some chance, you get a bit lost, you can find the entire list of bloggers here. Since we have so many bloggers, I'm keeping my post brief. But, I hope you like it. I know you will find lots of cool ideas...I've been amazed at the awesome talent displayed by this group. So have fun!
This is one of my very favorite projects because it is so useful. It's a stationery box originally created by the fabulous Jackie Topa. I've made a few minor modifications...instead of making my own address book, I covered a mini composition book and placed it in the medium pocket. I also included a small matching calculator. The large pocket accommodates several cards and envelopes. Jackie's version has all matching cards, notes and tags. Mine is a bit more "eclectic" (translation: with getting ready for convention and this blog hop, I ran out of time to make everything match).

All supplies are by Stampin' Up!: My Friend and Four Frames stamp sets; Basic Black textured cardstock; Calypso Coral, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla smooth cardstock; Jet Black Stazon and Lucky Limeade ink; Paisley Prints Designer Series Paper; 2-1/2" Scallop punch, 2-1/2" Circle punch, Designer Label punch; Victoria crochet trim and Sticky Strip adhesive (a must!). Enjoy!!

BTW: Convention is coming up quick. I'll be taking my laptop and will try to post updates each day. Also, I'll be posting my tutorial for this project next week after convention.

A little something new (and a sneak peek, too)...

Good evening, all!

I have a new card to show you. As we have had 90+ degree days and little rain for about the last 2 weeks, I needed to work on something that made me feel a little cool. As usual, all supplies are from Stampin' Up!, unless otherwise noted: Snow Much Fun (a sneak peek from the upcoming 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog); Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, and Always Artichoke cardstock; Early Espresso classic ink, Watercolor Wonder crayons, Cherry Cobbler seam binding, Modern Label punch and (of course...) the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder.

And, just in case you were wondering......I did not color the little tree! I stamped it first on the Very Vanilla cardstock, then stamped it again on Always Artichoke. I then cut it out, except for the trunk and the little bird, and pieced it into place. Next, I stamped the other images and colored them with my watercolor wonder crayons. Once that was finished, I embossed the entire image with the square lattice embossing folder. The embossed piece was layered onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, then tied with Cherry Cobbler seam binding. That panel was then adhered to my Not Quite Navy card base and the greeting applied. Here's a close-up of the embossing.....

Hope you like it....I'm afraid that my pictures don't do this card justice, 'cause it's my favorite of all the ones I've done this week!

Hi and welcome to my stop on the VC Rocks blog tour! I'm happy to have you visit and hope you enjoy the projects I have prepared for you. If you've already been on the tour,and you've just come from Elaine Wright's blog, then you know that we are focusing on using the Big Shot. And, if you are just getting started, well now you know, too!
My projects use a really cool technique called "Inlaid Embossing". It's done by adhering one or more elements (usually punched pieces of cardstock or designer series paper) to a base layer of cardstock, placing the entire piece into an embossing folder and then running the entire thing through the Big Shot. It's very simple, but absolutely gorgeous!!
Here's my first card:

All supplies are from Stampin' Up!
Just Believe stamp set. Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, and Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler classic ink pads. Early Espresso stampin' write marker. Basic pearls, Lace Ribbon border punch, Decorative Label punch and the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder. The embossing is a bit difficult to see so, here's a close-up:

You'll notice, too, that I colored my pearls with my Early Espresso marker. I thought they were a bit more striking than if I had left them alone.

Here's my next card, which uses "The Open Sea" stamp set:

For this card, I punched twelve images from the Nautical Expedition designer series paper using our new postage stamp punch and adhered them to a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock. I then embossed this piece as before, using the square lattice embossing folder in my Big Shot. Next, I wrapped our beautiful baker's twine around the left side of the panel before adhering it to my base card of Cherry Cobbler. I added my ship image, popped up with dimensionals. I think this would make a great card for father's day! Again, until my photography improves.....here's a close-up of the embossing:

It has been much too long since I have been here......
Lots has happened over the last 18 months (gasp!...has it really been that long?!), but I'm back in the swing of things and will be posting at least once a week. Earlier this month I had a workshop that focused on fancy-fold cards. I debated about rescheduling because of the disaster our area suffered, but decided we needed to have a little fun and relaxation, especially after being without power for nearly a week!
Here is the first card from my May workshop. It is a variation of the gate-fold card. Instead of having the card in "Portrait" mode with the gate opening at the center, I turned my card and used the "Landscape" orientation. I then moved the gate opening to the left side of the card which is hidden by the ribbon. To open, you simply slide the ribbon over to the left. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!...Style Beautiful stamp set. So Saffron, Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede cardstock. So Saffron, Early Espresso, Versamark inks. Clear embossing powder, Early Espresso 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, trinket keys, linen thread and two-step bird punch.

Boy, have I got some updating to do!
I just don't know where time goes, do you? It seems like yesterday that I was basking in the glow of convention and, now, it's nearly Halloween!! I've got some awesome news about class venues....I now have access to a wonderful place close to my home. I am scheduling "Technique Tuesday" classes on the second Tuesday of each month (the next will be held on November 10th and the cost is $20.00/5projects) and "Card Buffet" classes on the fourth Tuesday of each month (the next class will be tomorrow, October 27th. I charge $1.00/card and you make as many as you like of 5 different designs). Classes will be held at the Oakdale Club on the corner of AL hwy 251 and Oakdale Road in Athens (just northeast of Athens High School). Pre-payment is not required but I do need to know how many kits to make, so please call or e-mail me to reserve your spot. I'll be posting more details with project photos in the next few days. I'm getting photos done today...I'd like to say that I'll have them posted tonight, but I don't want to promise and then not be able to deliver. It's gotten so that "LIFE" really gets in my way a lot, even with best-laid plans. Well, I'm off to get those photos done. Have a great day!!

This is a photo of me and my friend, Celeste, standing by the gorgeous atrium in the Home Office in Riverton. We were fortunate and very grateful to have met a couple of great gals, Janice (from Sarasota, Florida) and Julie (from Chicago, Illinois) who let us hitch a ride with them out to the Stampin' Up! office.

My friend, Celeste really got into the swapping spirit...this was her first convention! We received some great swaps. I'll start sharing those in the next day or two, so stay tuned!

Has it really been over a month...?

it seems like yesterday...here I was busy with planning swaps and getting ready for convention. Now, convention is but a sweet memory and I'm working hard on getting my class schedule together for the next few months! Please check out my website and sign up to stamp with me. Classes will be held at my home, unless otherwise noted.
I learned a lot of new things at Convention, had a great time visiting with friends, had the opportunity to have my picture made with Shelli AND won the most awesome prize! If you've already seen the Holiday Mini, then you may have noticed the beautiful glass lockets in Shelli's "Simply Adorned" Collection. I was blessed to receive one of these gorgeous lockets, complete with an insert made by a member of the Gardner family and signed by Shelli herself! Plus, the stamp set "Charming" to put icing on the cake! I truly felt as if I had died and gone to heaven!!!
I have some wonderful swaps to show off, as well as my next class projects, as soon as I can get them all photographed. (That's my job this weekend) Stay tuned for more.....see you soon and HAPPY STAMPING!

Where does time go???

I think I completely lost the month of June and now July is half gone, too! I am so sorry to have taken so long between posts......
Lots has been happening and I have a few new projects to show, but my computer has been acting reallllly wonky. I promise to have new stuff posted later this afternoon. My friend, Celeste, and I are working on Convention swaps (we leave in 3 weeks!)this week and I'll be posting photos as soon as I get home. I PROMISE!!!!! Also, I'm planning a "Holidays in August" class for the week after I return from Convention....the new Catalog has some awesome new holiday sets that just can't be ignored!!! I have a "Christmas in July" class planned for this Thursday, but so far no one has expressed interest. I guess most everyone is finishing vacations before school starts....I still can't believe how early those poor kids have to start nowadays....and I'm thankful that my own are grown and I don't have to worry about that back-to-school hustle & bustle anymore! Goodness, I didn't mean to ramble on so!! I'll be back in a "few" hours with a new project or two...... 'til then....Happy Stamping!

Things around the homestead have been a bit challenging lately and I haven't been able to pay proper attention to my site. My apologies to all who may stop by expecting to see what's new. I'm putting the finishing touches on projects fot my June class and will have them posted in the next day or two....so stay tuned! I promise it will be worth the wait.

I accepted my first challenge!

Hi, all!

One of the sweet ladies from my Paper Dolls group posted a challenge last night and I decided to give it a try! The question was asked "If you only had 30 minutes to create a card, what would you do?". This card was my response...hope y'all like it.
All supplies are from Stampin' Up!
Friends 24-7 Stamp set. Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, and Very Vanilla cardstock. Basic Brown classic ink. Barely Banana, More Mustard, Mellow Moss Stampin' Write markers. Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware. Stampin' Sponges.
I need to get better with my photography because it's difficult to see the Damask image stamped in Basic Brown on the Chocolate Chip base. IRL it really adds texture that I like.

Hi, everyone....I have a beautiful card to show you! I saw this on display at my friend, Celeste's, house the other day and knew right away that it would be perfect for my Spring Giftables class last night! I fell in love the moment I saw it and totally forgot to ask who the original designer was. I'll let y'all know as soon as I find out!! ***Just found out this card was dsigned by my friend Mary Rager. Thank you, Mary!***
Here are the details: All supplies are from Stampin' Up!. Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Shimmery White cardstock. Sahara Sand classic ink. Whisper White Organza ribbon, micro beads and eyelet border punch.
It just oozes elegance to me and was so simple to make. I think I might use this for my convention swaps....what do you think?!
Well, it's getting late....I'll be back tomorrow with pictures of my scallop envelope Easter Basket.

I still have a lot to learn about blogging, but I'm getting there! Lots has happened since my last post. The CropinDivas Scrapbooking Expo was a bit of work but also a lot of fun, as well as a tremendous learning experience. I'm looking forward to seeing those great ladies again in the fall.
I had my first Hostess Club meeting (it actually turned into a class) with a very sweet lady who is new to stamping (Hi, Carina!). She made a full card with matching envelope, a 3x3 notecard with matching envelope and a treat bag with Top Note Die topper. All used the Pocket Silhouettes Stamp Set and the treat bag topper included the Yummy set. Until I have enough people signed up, I'll be scheduling monthly classes instead of a Club. For April, I'll be conducting a "Spring Giftables" class where we will be making 2 cards and 2 small gifts suitable for Spring-Early Summer events (Easter, Mother's Day, Graduation, Wedding, Father's Day). I'm posting a "preview" of one of the cards we'll be making. It uses the Flores Suaves stamp set from the current issue of Celebrando Creatividad, our Spanish catalog. My sample does not include a greeting. I'll have a selection of greetings available, so that everyone can customize the card to their needs. I'll let you know how things go! 'til next time......

In case you couldn't tell, I'm very excited and blessed to have the VERY BEST upline ever!!! Joann Wiemers (www.joannstamps.typepad.com) is my third-level upline and today she gave me the most wonderful gift.....I've been wanting to start a Hostess Club for the longest time, but I just don't have the space right now so...Joann has graciously offered her studio for my club meetings! This is on top of so many other wonderful things she has already done! (sorry for all the exclamation points...but I'm just so thankful & excited!!!) My first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3rd. I'll be posting pics of the club projects as soon as I have them finished. {{{HUGS}}} and A BIG THANK YOU to Joann!!

This is my very first post on my new blog! (Can you tell I'm a little excited? :-) ) I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Kristi Jaenisch. I have been an indepedent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 2001 and I absolutely love it!! It's primarily my hobby right now, but I'm hoping to make the big transition to Business Demo very soon. I'm currently working with a fellow demo friend (HI, Trish!) on a booth & classes during a Scrapbooking Expo here in Huntsville, Alabama next week (February 20-21) at the Von Braun Civic Center. Wish us luck with lots of new customers and club members. In the next few days, I'll have photos of our class projects and Make-and-Take . Our first class we will be making Name Frames and in our sencond class we will be making a Flip-Flop Scrapbook using our Simply Scrappin' Kits. (I'm still learning how to navigate around here and how to post/download stuff...please bear with me as I learn!) So, stay tuned! Any helpful hints are more than welcome from you experienced bloggers.
